Background
Presently perfectly good construction materials are going to the landfill and being wasted. The Sustainable Living Center gathered information from contractors at the landfill in May 2009. The results showed roughly 200 tons of concrete are taken to the landfill annually, 200 tons of still usable dimensional lumber, almost 400 windows, brick, block, doors and frames, electrical equipment, faucets, gypsum wallboard, heating ducts, insulation, light fixtures, pipe, plumbing fittings, roofing, and siding.
Contractors and the public have to pay to dispose of these materials in the landfill. We as taxpayers have to pay for extending the life of the landfill as it fills up. A Builders ReSupply keeps usable materials out of the landfill and money in all of our pockets.
